My project Home for The Holidays is the first beginning 2 minutes of my film. This film represents the dangers of cocaine addiction without directly stating it within the film. I did this to not make it seem directly blatant. This film follows the story of a man who lost his family in a car crash. This begins his addiction to cocaine, a highly addictive stimulant type drug. He uses this drug to cope with the loss of his deceased family. This causes him to develop drug induced schizophrenia. This schizophrenia causes him to hear the voices of his deceased family. The corpses mention how they are trapped upon the graves and wish to be set free. This is set during Christmas time which gives it the name Home for The Holidays. He drags the body of his loved ones into the house and sets the table. The plates lay empty though he believes they are full of a feast. This is because schizophrenia effects all of senses such as scent, and sight. That sums up the basic premise of my film. "How do your products use or challenge conventions and how do they represent social groups or issues?" I go against the typical horror genre in my film by not making it frightful but more of concerning and an uneasy feel. It depicts social issues by showing the real damage of drugs to the mental state. "How do your products engage with the audience and how would they be distributed as real media products?" My film would target those who struggle with mental issues and substance abuse. After the two minutes and later into the film the main character goes to search for help after he is arrested for unburying his family. My product would be distributed on HBO Max, a streaming service without ads. This is because I would want it to be Warner Bros production. "How did your production skills develop throughout this project?" During this project, I was able to edit more than before. Prior to this project, I had zero clue on how to edit and how to even film. But with this I have a basic idea which was very simple and easy to use. "How do you integrate technologies in this project?" In this project I utilized an app called "VN Video Editor" this app was extremely easy to use. If I couldn't figure something out myself I could simply search it and easily learn.
