When I watched the video in Media Studies of the burial of a cadaver I got inspired. I looked at the quick cuts of dressing up in a dark wardrobe. I decided I wanted to replicate this idea but in a different manner. I plan to do back-to-back cuts at the beginning of my video. This will include dressing up in formal wear, brushing my teeth, and blow-drying my washed hair.
Furthermore, the video will be filmed in black and white with extreme chiaroscuro also called dramatic illumination. This will dramatize and accentuate the metaphorical darkness in the film. What inspired me to make the quick and back-to-back cuts were inspired by Euphoria's 4 am beauty routine done by Cassie.
My film will be titled "Home for the Holidays". It will be a horror film without drastic gore. The main character has a mental illness that is left up to the audience's interpretation and he is on intense cocaine. A drug that can severely alter the state of one's mind. The message of this film is to not take drugs and the severely adverse effects they can have on your mental processing.
