When I started this project, I was not aware of how long it would take me. I started by looking at this list and choosing what I thought was the easiest out of the list. I recorded the video and did the action that was in most of the segments. This caused my camera to be shaky since I was recording with one hand. To get my ideas for each of the clips I just thought of what would be accessible in my house. I learned to not record with one hand due to the shakiness. The editing, however, is what caused me the most issues. After being unable to find the fade in/fade out option on VN Video Editor I had to do my own research on google explaining to me how to do it. The hardest part however was the dissolve edit since I couldn’t figure out how long I should make the first clip and then how long I should make the second clip as well. I learned not to make the first clip too long though since it looks awkward. Which was a mistake I made in my video.
Wipe 0:14-0:17
In this clip, Obi-Wan speaks with Anakin on the mountaintop while they are looking at the terrain. This wipe is used to create a basic transition into the next scene.
Dissolve 0:14-0:18
In this shot, the individual is pushing his way through the double doors. It then dissolves into the newspaper. This shot is essentially seamless, and it helps sadden the film.
Fade in/Fade out 0:31-0:36
In this particular shot, they are casting all the rings for these specified important groups. The fade in and out shots make the movie go by slower and dramatize the film and what's to come.
Jump cut 0:19-0:23
The women in this clip are typing on the typewriter while they appear to be weary of their difficulties using said typewriter. The man is searching for a secretary among these women. This makes the clip funnier since shot after shot is these women failing at using a typewriter. It also shows the length of time that it took to look for someone who could use a typewriter without needing to make the movie longer.
Cutting on Action 0:19-0:21
In this scene of Spectre, the two men aggressively fight with each other inside the train. The one guy gets thrown onto the table and this is the cutting-on action shot. This showed how intense the scene really was and how much damage was caused to the people and their surroundings.
Freeze Frame 0:20
In this scene of Highschool Musical, they are all jumping after they've had their graduation. This was used to show their excitement.
